The Baton Rouge sound is mourning a heavy loss. Glenn Clifton Jr., known to the game as Young Bleed, has hung up the mic at the age of 51. The No Limit Records veteran passed on Saturday, Nov. 1, just a week after he showed up and showed out for the No Limit vs. Cash Money Verzuz battle in Vegas. Bleed walked off that stage only to be rushed to the ICU, a victim of a vicious brain aneurysm that he couldn’t fight off.
The news hit the wire hard. His son, Ty’Gee Ramon, was the one who broke the silence, posting a heartbreaking note on Monday that his pops “gained his wings.” The legend was already in critical condition following the ComplexCon show on October 25. While the streets were whispering rumors of his passing last week, the family confirmed he was fighting in the ICU, hooked up to a ventilator.
According to Tameka Long, the mother of his youngest son, this was a battle Young Bleed had been facing privately: a heavy combination of high blood pressure and heart disease. His mother confirmed the hospitalization through a GoFundMe, trying to hold the line for medical costs. Now, the music community is pouring out love for the soldier who helped put the South on his back. R.I.P. Young Bleed.
